SCTG is a network of some of the most interesting churches and chapels in the County that have dominated the landscape and life of communities for over a thousand years.

SCTG is an ecumenical body of self-motivated people interested in the promotion and development of church visiting, and church tourism, to enhance visitors’ enjoyment, appreciation and understanding of Shropshire, and our Churches.

SCTG is a properly constituted, non-profit, VOLUNTARY organisation run by a few church members who live in and near Shropshire, and who wish to maintain the profile of the Church in our increasingly secular world.
The Membership subscription has not been increased for several years. . Despite rising costs, we have managed to keep it TO £20 per year, making £60 for the three years 2024, 2025 and 2026. This includes:
1.An entry in the next ‘Guide to Shropshire Churches’ A5 booklet, in full colour, distributed free to Visitor Information Centres, and other main visitor attractions in Shropshire, and freely available in other member churches. The current Guide is very popular, and the next one will appear in March 2025.
2.Entry on the SCTG website (www.discovershropshirechurches.co.uk ). When we receive payment, your Church can have its own web page. We can add pictures & text for you.
3. Our Newsletters covering new tourism opportunities and developments.
4. A programme of meetings, workshops and informative speakers.
5. And a vote at the SCTG AGM
